.Scott Mescudi released his long awaited album PPDS six months ago and by default, the blogs quickly jumped to their reviews and thoughts on it. Personally, I was just surprised at some of the responses and ratings PPDS was given. I don't see how you can give a true review on an album so quickly without letting really it marinate, or experiencing the album. Most of what I saw was very technical, such the album being dragged out and empty. Empty? People are weird. I loved it, but I didn't want to give my opinion on the album so soon, because I wanted to listen to it in my car, while I cooked, while I was upset, or happy about something. It just had to be the right time. So here I am, inspired to write something today because of Kid Cudi. I haven't been too inspired by much lately, nor have I been feeling centered. Trying to keep myself balanced can be a task sometimes. But I remember when I tripped on acid, the words "Just breathe" stayed in my head and got me through those 12 hours, so I try to resonate that with my life now. Breathe and you will be fine. PPDS is moving and provides a feeling of reassurance. Rose Golden has been my theme song and gives me a transcendent experience. I cried to it when i felt low, and every single time the song is over I feel like I have so much power. Maybe Cudi isn't as direct with his wording in the album like he was with Man On The Moon, but people just need to listen, he's still giving the same message, it's just not being spoon fed. Kid Cudi is sharing his feelings the way he wants to and still wants us to be the commander of our own lives. Plus, very few artists can get Andre 3000 on a track but to get two? C'mon.
