This year's June cover star, Yara Shahidi, is on a mission to foster equality. This shoot went with a glamorous Pretty in Pink theme, while Yara could still be shown in her free spirited element. Styled by Andreas Kokkino at The Wall Group in Chanel Haute Couture ss'18 and Yara's own pristine Nike Air Max 98s. Photographer Taylor Tupy captured the embroidered tulle and feather details on her dress and the dance moves Yara showed off in a pink embroidered faille dress and sneakers. Bazaar sat down with the Iranian-African American beauty to discuss her multicultural heritage, diversity in the industry, and connecting communities. With a happily mixed heritage, she's never felt the need to pick sides so she has used her platform for activism and global awareness. As an upcoming fashion icon, Yara Shahidi freely shows the world what beauty and intelligence beyond her age looks like. Read more of her cover at Harper's Bazaar!
Reading is essential and COOL. Last year I made it a point to start reading more because I wanted understand the levels of my spirituality more. I didn't always have an interest in reading books, but I did have interest in becoming more in tune with myself and the world around me. So I turned to reading for more knowledge. Here's a list of my favorite books that changed my perspective on many things for the better. Go into the new year with new options of books to read or even with the idea of reading more.

Another annual Met Gala ball has come and gone. This year's theme was all about paying tribute to Rei Kuwakubo and her bold designs for Comme Des Garçons. Of course when it comes to the party of the year, 'avant garde' and 'the never done before' should lead your look for the night. Sticking to the theme isn't always the easiest thing to get right, but there were some who completely nailed it. While Rihanna owned the night, other stars like Zendaya came very close to being best dressed; add a head piece and I think she could've stole the show.
These beauties were also my top fave looks of the night. They did their homework, stuck to the theme, and came out with daring looks.
